Much more than you have sown will grow in your garden.
Mainly I love the concept of community gardens. We should all be able to grow.

One of the most delightful things about a garden is the anticipation it provides.

At age 10, my dad let me mow the yard with him. I saw pears grow on the tree for the first time and I fell in love with gardening.

I grow what I eat: grapes, squash, zucchini, beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, habanero peppers, garlic and butternut squash.

For some reason things grow differently there than at my house even though it’s nearby. I get to see plants “act” in various ways and I feel like that’s speeding up my learning. Bonus: I get to see what everyone else is growing and how.

I have always been a gardener of sorts. My first memories as a child are of touring my grandmother's garden along with my mother and listening intently as they pointed out each plant and its progress. My mother and I continued this practice after my grandmother died, and I cherish those moments especially since her passing. I started gardening on my own because it reminds me of those sweet times.

I have a couple of beds at a community garden. I was offered the beds in exchange for keeping them attractive for the group that runs the garden. I'm a master gardener and sometimes teach classes there as well.

Watching the process was amazing. I would hop out of bed everyday to go see my garden. I was ecstatic about the least little bit of growth I saw. The joy of sitting outside in the garden really gave me peace of mind and a sense of accomplishment, which was great for my mental health.
